Job Description
We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the position of Category Manager at Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe headquarter in Amsterdam.

Experience: 3-5 years in a technical environment
Working hours: Full-time
What you will be doing
- Category management of Steel related parts, Hydraulic Components, Electric Components and/or other automotive parts.
- Developing Procurement strategy/plans and managing them in order to improve and meet company requirements to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Environment (SQDCE)
- Strategy and plan making for each product/services and supplier group within the assigned category
- Market mapping to find the best trends and practices
- Managing and developing relationships with all category suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure that the organization receives satisfactory level of service based on SQDCE and personal targets & objectives
- Making category budget as input to the overall Procurement budget
- Selection, negotiating, managing and ending contracts with suppliers
- Managing escalated supplier regarding supply issues
- Intermediary between internal and external organization
What you will need to succeed
- BSc, BEng or MSc degree, technical or business-oriented
- Native/fluent English
- Good time management, ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Being a strong negotiator, who manages and develops suppliers to meet set requirements
- Being driven by results and performance
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical and negotiating skills
- Entrepreneurship and commercial skills

Education & Experience
Strong understanding of Java 8, Microservices, Spring-boot, API Development and AWS
Proficient in Core Java /J2EE technologies & Spring framework Experience in Pair programming
Must Have

Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and guidance

Experience using Docker to package and deploy web applications

Experience with cloud-based web services and database systems (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure)

Familiarity with server-side programming (e.g. Node.js, Python)
